Hello. My name is Scot Presley. I am the Broker at Renovation Mortgage. I brokered my first home improvement loans in 1992 and my first ground-up construction loan in 1993. During my 22 years experience as a mortgage broker, I have had the privilege to work with hundreds of satisfied clients, and have brokered over $800 million in loans consisting of many types of financing.
My depth of direct experience enables me to quickly analyze what can be done to achieve your goals as quickly and efficiently as possible. I am very detail oriented. My hands-on personal attention to every loan and my ability to foresee and avoid potential problems ensure that you will be insulated from unnecessary pitfalls, paperwork, effort, and stress.
I received my degree in Finance from San Diego State University in 1988, and started this company in 1993. In 2003 I transitioned into brokering larger scale commercial development & construction loans, and then became the CFO and COO from 2004 thru 2007 at Maisel Presley Inc, which turned into one of San Diego County’s the top 10 Home Developers in both 2006 and 2007. At its pinnacle, our company had over 200 employees (mostly in construction) and a portfolio consisting of 1850 condo units in over 20 concurrent projects in various stages of development and construction.
After the worldwide financial collapse in 2008, I worked with various commercial developers arranging financing for hard to finance commercial projects from 2009-2011. I found that working with these types of clients was not rewarding, and I found myself missing working with residential clients. So in 2011 I transitioned back to residential financing, and also got involved in some residential renovation projects myself, ranging from complete teardown-rebuilds to basic “fix and flip” remodels. As competition has now become too extreme to be able to acquire pre-renovation properties with good margins, I decided that I wanted to start helping homeowners and homebuyers take advantage of the excellent renovation financing opportunities now available for their own properties.
